Michael S. Dykes

Michael Dykes passed away on June 28th, 2018.

Michael was born and raised in Athens, GA. He loved everything about music. He played both guitar and bass, and recently started singing. Woodworking was a passion of his that was passed down from his grandfather. Michael was a devoted husband and father. All he wanted to do in life was have a family, be a husband, and a father. He had four young children who adored him and thought he was Batman. Michael had such a bright smile and a huge heart. If he saw someone who needed help, he was always first to stop and help them.

Michael is survived by his wife, Tori Klug; four children, Jessie, Avery, Dean, and John; his mother, Carolyn Dykes; his brother, Spencer Dress; his grandmother, Gina Dress; his aunts, Susan Johnson, and Beth Watson; his uncles, Steve Dress, and Dave Johnson; and numerous other family and friends.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church.  Inurnment will follow in Catholic Cemetery.

Michael was my supervisor at McLane for a while before leaving to Savannah. He was a very sweet quiet person, always willing to do what he could to solve a problem. Sorry for your loss, prayers for family and friends.
